ShmuelAfter the holidays there is a lot of leftover food in our fridge. So it’s pretty simple to put together a quick lunch.

This week I made one of my favorite meals which we’ve previously shown how to prepare from scratch – Israeli Spicy Beef Hummus.

Here’s the easy-hack version that’s ALMOST as good! – Note: Since it’s based on leftovers, the exact measurements aren’t important. Just base it on how much of each ingredient you have, or like!

  • Hummus
  • Ground Beef
  • Mushrooms
  • Fried Onions
  • Galilee Green Olive Oil
  • Zaatar
  • Tabasco Sauce

Directions

  1. On a large plate spread a liberal amount of hummus (in this case I used leftover store-bought hummus in a tub) in a ring around the outer edge of the plate.
  2. Place a layer of cooked, sliced mushrooms (you can used sliced mushrooms from a can) in the center of the plate
  3. Add a  layer of fried onions on top of the mushrooms
  4. Add a layer of cooked ground beef on top of the onions
  5. Pour some Galilee Green Olive Oil onto the hummus and the ground beef
  6. Sprinkle some zaatar onto the hummus
  7. Add some tobasco sauce to the ground beef to taste
  8. Heat up the dish in the microwave for 1 minute and 45 seconds

Now find a warm bread roll or pita and enjoy! Whether you make this recipe from scratch, or you put it together from leftovers, the secret to its deliciousness is the creamy smooth Galilee Green Olive Oil.
