Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic are the perfect side dish for any meal. It compliments both chicken and the traditional beef brisket. Being low in calories, high in fiber and full of Vitamins A and C, they also pack a great nutritional punch.
Sauteed Green Beans with Garlic
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of washed whole green beans
- 1 small purple onion cut in half and sliced
- 1 sliced bell pepper (orange, red or yellow)
- 3 cloves of garlic sliced
- 2 tablespoons Galilee Green Olive Oil
- 1 tablespoon of seeds – sesame, pumpkin or sunflower
- Juice of one lemon
- Sea or Himalayan Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
- Heat up the Galilee Green Olive Oil on a medium flame
- Add garlic and onions and saute for 2 minutes
- Add bell pepper and saute for another 2 minutes
- Add green beans and saute for 5-10 minutes
- Add lemon juice and salt and pepper
- Lower the heat and cover for an additional 5 – 10 minutes
- Uncover and stir in the seeds
- Plate and serve
The cooking time depends on how crunchy you like eating your cooked green beans. I like the crunch so I cook it less.
For an Asian flavor use 1 tablespoon of a light Soy Sauce or Japanese Tamari Sauce instead of the fresh lemon juice. It is delicious served hot or cold. ENJOY!
