🚗 A gas station in the Jezreel Valley advertised the cheapest prices in the country yesterday at 5.75 shekels per liter.

💲 That translates to US $6.30 per US gallon. And we are celebrating that price!!!

CEOWORLD magazine ranks Israel above Hong Kong (9), France (14), Belgium (18) and the US (20), all of which have lower cost of living scores than we do.

WHY IS IT SO EXPENSIVE TO LIVE HERE?

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Our NATIONAL population of 8.5 million is less than the cities of Chicago, London, Paris, New York or Los Angeles.

👮‍♂️👩‍⚕️👨‍🚒👩‍🚀👨‍⚖️👩‍🏫Yet in addition to paying for a police force, fire department and garbage collection we need to pay for one of the most powerful standing armies in the world.

🌎🌍We need to maintain embassies and consulates in virtually every country in the world. And pay for municipal and national governments and a national health care system.

📈 To pay for it all we have high income tax rates PLUS high import duties and a VAT (Sales Tax) of 17 percent. Gasoline prices are so high because of the hidden taxes.
