How to Make Tabouli Salad
Tabouli Salad is a fresh and healthy Mediterranean Grain salad. It is packed with protein, fiber, vitamin C, K and manganese. It is a salad that is great for building strong bones and boosting your immune system.
Tabouli, is rooted in Lebanese and Syrian cuisine, blends fresh parsley, mint, tomatoes, bulgur wheat, lemon juice, and olive oil.
Originating as part of the traditional mezze spread, it celebrates hospitality and the use of seasonal, local ingredients.
Though Tabouli is not originally part of Israeli food culture, Jewish immigrants from Arab nations brought their culinary heritage to Israel.
Over time, it became a staple in modern Israeli cuisine, especially during warm seasons and festivals like Shavuot, which highlights the harvest of grains and produce.
Israeli versions sometimes feature local adaptations, such as pomegranate seeds, date syrup, or substitutions like couscous in place of bulgur.
Today, tabbouleh is enjoyed across homes, restaurants, and street markets in Israel, symbolizing more than just freshness—it reflects cultural fusion and agricultural abundance. With every bite, it tells a story of shared heritage, culinary adaptation, and the vibrant flavors of the Levant.
