Just over 3,300 years ago the Jewish people were getting ready for the day that would shake the world.

And the Lord said to Moses, Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their clothes;
And be ready by the third day; for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon Mount Sinai.

Exodus 19:10-11

On the third day, the entire population would experience the Revelation of God at Sinai. We call this day “Shavuot.”

In fact, the entire people experienced the revelation of the first two of the 10 Commandments. “To know there is a God” and “Have no other gods.”

The remaining revelation of Torah which would be transmitted via Moshe includes the rest of the 613 commandments and their explanations. These commandments are the “Laws” (lit: instructions) by which the “CHILDREN of Israel” become the “NATION of Israel.”

The mission of the NATION of Israel is to create a society which serves as an example of a “God-focused” nation, and teach the world how to live a “God-focused” life.

The revelation at Sinai on Shavuot not only transformed the Jewish People, but it served as the foundation for transforming the world. Watch this 1 hour video to see how Torah changed western civilization.
