What is Tisha B’av?
Tisha B’av – is literally the 9th of the Hebrew month of Av. It is the date when both the first and second Temples were destroyed in Jerusalem.
It is one of the most little known “holydays” on the Hebrew calendar. Although, arguably one of the most important.
Learning the lessons of this “Fast Day” and making the appropriate changes is the secret to ushering in the final redemption. That means the coming of the Mashiach (Messiah) and the rebuilding the Temple.
Jews around the world will spend 25 hours from Sunset, mourning the loss of the Temples. They will be fasting and reading Lamentations and elegies.
The day of Tisha B’av is important not only for the Nation of Israel, but for all the Nations of the world.
