Each month we will be sharing with you a short video of some of our favorite people and places in the Galilee. We thought it would be appropriate to start with Yavne’el, the home of Galilee Green.
Yavne’el is mentioned in the Book of Joshua as one of the border towns of the tribe of Naftali. In modern times it was founded in 1901 and is one of the oldest agricultural communities of Aliyah Aleph (the first wave of modern return of the Jewish people which began in the late 1800’s)
It is located about 12 kilometers south-west of Tiberias, and a short 8 minute drive to the Sea of Galilee, the Kinneret.
Here is a video we made last fall picking the olives in the orchard surrounding the community synagogue.
