Sometimes I feel like I am living in “Brave New World” or “1984.”
  • Today, lies are truth.  Facts are disinformation.
  • History is fantasy, and made up narratives are treated as history.
  • The Good Guys are the evil empire, and the Arab Muslim Terrorists are the Good Guys.

BLAMING THE VICTIMS

And now Joe Biden tells Israel that we, the victims, are to blame.

When Hamas murders six Israel captives in cold blood, by shooting them in the back of the head, we are to blame for not surrendering to the terrorists.

In response, PM Netanyahu gave a long press conference in Hebrew, explaining our position based on Facts and History.

His response makes total sense for anyone wanting to make decisions based on logic and reality.

However most of the world makes their decisions based on self-interest or feelings.

VAST MAJORITY OF ISRAEL AGREES WITH BIBIIn spite of the protests you see in the streets of Israel, the vast majority of Israelis do not want to repeat the mistakes of the past.

They majority agrees that we cannot relinquish control of our security to foreign entities. Egypt was entrusted to ensure the Philadelphi Corridor would not be used for smuggling terrorists or weapons. How did that work out? Would any sane person put them in control again?

Should we allow the UN to control the Philadelphi Corridor? UNWRA employees were some of the terrorist murderers of October 7! UNIFIL let Hezbollah re-arm with over 150,000 missiles in an area that was supposed to be a de-militarized Southern Lebanon!

The Israeli people protesting are either “Anti-Bibi” or want the return of our hostages NOW “at all costs.”  They are living in a Huxley-Orwellian world where they think there is a deal on the table when there is NONE!

ELUL IS TIME FOR INTROSPECTION

We just entered the Hebrew month of Elul. It is a time of introspection and teshuva (repentance) before we arrive at Rosh HaShanah.

Each individual should think about the past and where they went off track with their life goals.

Learning from the mistakes, we must admit responsibility for our mistakes, regret them, learn what to do next time, and resolve to change.

The same process should be taken by our leaders. The Nation of Israel has a mandate and a goal set out in our Torah. We must look back at our recent history of Israel and study the Torah and the Prophets to see where we went off track in the past and why.

In his press conference, Netanyahu made a wonderful analysis of the recent history of Israel’s fight with Hamas terrorists in Gaza. He pointed out our mistakes and admitted them. He showed regret for those mistakes and resolve not to make the same mistakes again!

REALIGN WITH OUR NATIONAL MISSION

The next steps for us as a Nation of Israel to resolve this mess, is for our Leaders to study our Torah and Prophets (Like Ben Gurion did — who was not religious).  That way they will have more ability and confidence to align our actions with the destiny the Almighty has promised us.

With prayers for all Israel and the rest of the world learn the lessons of history and bring back sanity to the world.
