The Bible Comes to Life at Kfar Tabor

We were out shopping recently at a brand new supermarket in the Village of Kfar Tabor just ten minutes down the road from us here in the Galilee. Actually we were picking up some supplies that we plan to use in a special surprise for you soon. As usual the contrast between the brand new outdoor mall with all the modern conveniences and the historical significance of this biblical site was stunning.

At the top of the articel is a wonderful photo taken by Shlomo Nirinsky circa 1919 shortly after the Jewish moshav of Kfar Tabor was founded at the base of Mount Tabor. This is  where the Judge Deborah and Barak defeated Sisera. Here’s what it looks like today!

“And Deborah said to Barak, Arise; for this is the day in which God has delivered Sisera into your hand. Has not God gone out before you? So Barak went down from Mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.” (Judges 4:14)

In these difficult times it’s good to remember that it is God who goes out before us to help us defeat our enemies.
