Jordan & Brittany Bowers

This recipe for “Sage Roasted Duck” is inspired by Jordan Bowers of Gainesville, Georgia. We noticed these wonderful pics and recipe on his Facebook page and decided to share it with you.

Jordan has been with us for over 3 years. He is a great, and creative cook. Loves food, and loves Israel.

That combination made it inevitable that he would choose GGOO as a staple in his kitchen and often appears in his FB feed as a key ingredient of his masterpieces. Like this one for Sage Roasted Duck that he recently posted:

“Sage Roasted Duck with acorn squash soup and duck fat gravy! Galilee Green olive oil!!!”

  • 1 tablespoon fresh sage leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 orange, quartered
  • 1 onion, quartered

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Rinse the duck inside and out, then pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the olive oil, salt, pepper, sage, thyme, rosemary, and minced garlic.
  4. Rub the herb mixture all over the duck, including inside the cavity.
  5. Stuff the cavity with the orange and onion quarters.
  6. Place the duck on a rack in a roasting pan, breast side up.
  7. Roast the duck in the preheated oven for about 2 hours, or until the skin is crispy and the meat is cooked through. Baste occasionally with the juices from the pan.
  8. Let the duck rest for about 10 minutes before carving.

Roasting a duck might sound intimidating, but with the right ingredients and a bit of patience, you’ll be able to create a mouth-watering, aromatic dish that will have your guests coming back for seconds.
