It’s amazing how quickly it becomes dinner time when I’m having a very busy day.

So this week I turned to the freezer and the pantry and pulled out those ’emergency items’ that help make a fast, easy and delicious meal.

I hardly ever use bottled sauces but luckily I had a jar of Italian spaghetti sauce. That and a pound of frozen ground beef – it’s amazing how quickly it defrosted in a bowl of hot water – a can of mushrooms, an onion, some garlic and of course my Galilee Green Olive Oil, became a surprisingly good dinner that was ready fast.

I’m convinced it wouldn’t have tasted as good without the great flavor that Galilee Green brings to everything I make and I’m happy knowing that our olive oil adds such a significant boost to our health because we use it regularly.

This meal needs only 1 pot!

So when you’re stuck for a quick dinner idea, raid your pantry, grab your Galilee Green Olive Oil and have a lovely meal on the table in minutes!

Super Quick Supper for Two

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons Galilee Green Olive Oil (GGOO)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 14 ounce can of sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups bottled or canned tomato sauce

Directions

  1. Heat up a frying pan on medium high and add GGOO.
  2. Pour in chopped onions and cook for 2 minutes stirring constantly.
  3. Add mushrooms, stir then lower heat to medium for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until mixture starts to brown.
  4. Make a well in the middle of the pan and add the minced garlic for a minute, stirring constantly.
  5. Mix the onions, mushrooms and garlic together in the pan then push the mixture to the outside of the pan to make room for the ground meat in the middle.
  6. Add the ground meat and break it up as you stir it, keeping it in the middle so it cooks evenly.
  7. When the meat is cooked (to your preference – we like it medium) mix it all together with the onions, mushrooms and garlic.
  8. Pour the tomato sauce over the mixture, stir well, bring to a simmer and let it cook for about 5 minutes, stirring ocassionally.

That’s it! Fast easy, yummy. Serve with a salad and enjoy.
