I mostly eat some kind of protein and vegetables and a little fruit as well.
A nice change from my regular salmon fillets is a nicely seared tuna steak.
Tuna is more economical than salmon and it has a bolder flavor. It’s also a quick prep. I like it medium rare for a moist and flavorful steak.
I serve it with roasted broccoli and almonds and a kale salad for one of our all time favorite meals!
Tuna Steaks (serves 2)
Ingredients
- 2 tuna steaks
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons Galilee Green Olive Oil
- 2 teaspoons GGOO for searing
- 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of Cayenne pepper (this is great if you like a little heat as we do, but it’s optional)
Directions
- Place soy sauce, Galilee Green Olive Oil and Cayenne pepper in a ziplock bag and add tuna steaks, marinating for 10 minutes or over night.
- Heat a skillet on medium high until hot. Add 2 teaspoons of GGOO to hot pan and wait about 20 seconds until oil is hot.
- Sear tuna for 2.5 minutes on each side for medium rare (2 minutes each side for rare and 3 minutes each side for medium)
- Serve whole or sliced into 1 inch slices.
